SATs meeting info

Apologies for the delay with uploading this information. Above is the SATS PowerPoint with information about the Mocks, expectations and the plan for SATS in May.

In response to a question we had at the meeting, children’s SATS results are sent to high schools and they then use this data as a benchmark. Some high schools may carry out their own assessments too.

If there are any further questions about the information provided, the upcoming mocks or the SATS in May then please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher, Mrs Lloyd (Year Group Leader) or Mrs Nunn (Phase Leader).

This Week’s Learning

In maths we have been building on our prior knowledge of 2D shape. As well as the properties of shapes, we have recapped the different types of angles: acute, obtuse, straight line and reflex. We used this to help us to estimate the angle before measuring it. When using a protractor, we found that we had to ensure that it was directly in line with the 0 so that we were accurate.

This week we have learnt about Charles Darwin and his theory of evolution. We spoke about his idea of the survival of the fittest and discussed how animals have evolved over time in order to survive in their environment. This was in preparation for our trip to the Horniman Museum (see photos below).
